What is mycorrhizae and why we recommend it?
Mycorrhizae is a soil born fungi that penetrates plant roots increasing the uptake of nutrients and water. As the Mycorrhizae grows, it becomes an extension of the plants root system improving overall function. In return the plant supplies the mycorrhizal fungi with sugars it creates through photosynthesis. This is a symbiotic association between the plant and the fungus that is essential for plant life to thrive.
Applying Mycorrhizae to the soil through deep root injection improves plant nutrition, soil chemistry and soil structure. Annual tree and shrub fertilizations will replenish unfertile soil keeping your plants healthy and helping them Live Long!

Why Deep Root Fertilizing is Important
Plants growing in the forest do NOT need fertilizing because every year the fallen leaves, sticks and other organic matter decompose, improving soil structure and releasing nutrients like Potassium, Phosphorus and Nitrogen that are essential for plants to grow. Unfortunately, in many of our landscapes the soil is lacking the nutrients needed for plants to thrive. Leaves and fallen branches are often cleaned up and organic matter isn’t left to break down and maintain the soil structure. Over time the soil becomes unfertile, plants become weakened and susceptible to disease and insects, as well as many other factors that cause decline. Fertilizing annually provides the vital nutrients your trees and shrubs need to stay healthy!
